		<description>Thank you for this post. Had the same issue, fixed the same way. Strange enough, the problem appeared only on one of two computers being upgraded from 8.04 to 8.10 (I have not got enough motivation to investigate this further). Might worth considering filing a bug report.</description>

		<description>Though Update Manager is supposed to be an easy fix, every time I&#039;ve tried to use it, it has left my system in shambles, especially in the respect of getting the nvidia drivers to work.  Users attempting to upgrade to 8.10 be warned: it&#039;s worth a try, but you may end up having to do a clean install anyway.  I recommend having a separate /home partition.</description>
